Fully in line with the independent spirit and values of the founder, so committed to "taking Beauty seriously", the Courtin-Clarins family holds the reins of a Beauty brand with a strong international influence.
A global player in the cosmetics and fragrances sector, the brand is proud of its expansion, proud of having created products that revolutionized the history of cosmetics, and proud of showing that financial gain is not its only motivation.
A responsible beauty brand that lets customers access its products online and in some 19,000 points of sale, 130 countries worldwide, while continuing to design and manufacture its skincare products and fragrances in France.
Clarins, respecting consumers.
The success of Clarins, which originated in the Institute, is built on listening to women.
The success of Clarins, which originated in the Institute, is built on listening to women. The strength of Clarins lies in women. The success of Clarins lies in respect, in listening to our customers.”
Jacques Courtin-Clarins - Founder
The success of Clarins comes from attention and dialog, built on listening to women, directly in the Institute at first, then via the Client Card and, currently, the Clarins Club. Respecting the importance they place on beauty, Jacques Courtin-Clarins claims to have "satisfied himself with following women..." and he prided himself on offering them the product - and application method - best meeting their expectations. In the digital era, our brand-customer interaction is further enhanced through this website and social media.
Clarins has always sought to show customers respect by having a sincere dialog and by offering serious, effective products that do what they say, by giving priority to product communication on the container, through advice and customized products, along with textures suited to skin type, age and gender.

The Clarins Laboratories consider the traceability of raw materials, their quality and gentleness as central to their requirements.
Responsible Beauty is also the extreme attention paid to best practices, whether in terms of Research, implementing tests performed or regarding safety aspects.
In 2007, the Clarins Laboratories were the first in selective perfumery to receive Good Laboratory Practices certification with an A, the best grade issued by the French National Medication Safety Agency (ANSM). The Cosmetic Vigilance department was set up within the Laboratory, in order to monitor any reactions occurring after using a Clarins product.
In developing its cutting-edge concepts and formulas, Clarins set itself one guideline: relying on its own laboratories and controlling the production chain from A to Z. Formulation, assessment, microbiology, phyto-chemistry, packaging, regulations: the Clarins teams are involved in every stage with ultra-modern development tools and are responsible for ensuring the safe use of products in accordance with applicable regulations.
The Group is committed to ensuring all its skincare products, fragrances and by-products are made in France. This geographical requirement guarantees traceability and optimal control of the manufacturing conditions.
Respecting employees.
As part of its corporate social responsibility strategy, Clarins never overlooks the men and women contributing to its success: consumers, employees, plant growers, suppliers and all its partners.
Clarins employs 8,500 direct employees worldwide, who share a passion for beauty and work well done. As the vital forces of the company, their well-being, safety and personal fulfillment in keeping with group values are priorities at the center of the human resources policy.
Clarins employs 8,500 people worldwide. A responsibility taken seriously.

Jacques Courtin-Clarins - Founder
As architects of the company's success and of the implementation of its social commitments, employees are made aware during their integration seminar of sustainable development challenges and of Clarins' vision of responsible beauty.
Each employee is responsible on a daily basis for driving the values of a unique family group. They are proud to help develop these values.

In 2008, Clarins signed its first agreement of this type, thereby combining the purchase of raw materials with assistance granted to local communities through fairer compensation, improved living conditions and access to health and education, provided to small producers and their community.
For the HydraQuench range, which uses Katafray as its key active ingredient, 5% of the raw material purchase price goes to a fund dedicated to Clarins' local partners in Madagascar and finances community-interest projects right where the producers of this ingredient live: building classrooms, strengthening water access infrastructures, etc.
Clarins is a founding member of the NRSC (Natural Resources Stewardship Council), an industry initiative to improve the sourcing of ingredients with all players in the value chain: producers, processors and manufacturers.
